News Story

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released the official datesheet for the 2026 board examinations, confirming that Class 12 (Intermediate) tests will be held from February 2 to February 13, followed by Class 10 (Matric) examinations from February 17 to February 25, 2026.

Announcing the schedule, BSEB Chairperson Anand Kishor said the board is introducing a range of new digital tools, including an AI-based chatbot, aimed at improving accessibility, transparency and administrative efficiency during exams.

Class-wise schedule and applications

The Intermediate examinations for Science, Commerce and Arts streams will run first, spread over 12 days. Once concluded, the Matric examinations will begin, with all papers held at designated examination centres statewide.

Students appearing for either exam must complete their applications by December 3, 2025, the board said.

Tech upgrades and transparency push

For the first time, BSEB will deploy an AI chatbot on mobile platforms to answer student queries related to exams, procedures and documentation. Additional digital checks will help prevent data duplication and streamline verification.

The 2026 cycle will see one of the largest exam cohorts in the state’s history, with nearly 25 lakh students registered.

Compartment and special examinations

Students who miss the main exams or hope to improve their scores can take compartment or special papers scheduled for April–May 2026.

Results for the main exams are expected by March or April 2026, while compartment results are expected between May and June, ensuring minimal delay for college admissions and higher education planning.
