The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued an important notification for NEET PG 2025 candidates seeking to change their category from Indian to Non-Resident Indian (NRI) for Round 2 of the counselling process.
The move offers eligible students a final opportunity to modify their status
— but only under stringent timelines and documentation requirements.
According to the official notification,
applications must be submitted solely via
email to nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com,
with the submission window open from 11 am
on December 1, 2025, until 8 pm on
December 3, 2025. Any email sent outside this timeframe will be
automatically rejected.
In a clear directive, MCC has also stated that all required documents must be sent in one single email; multiple submissions or incomplete document uploads will not be processed.
To verify NRI eligibility, applicants must
attach the following documents in their email:
·
NEET-PG credentials:
Admit card and scorecard
·
Proof of
NRI status of parent or eligible sponsor:
Passport, visa/work permit, OCI/PIO card, or an Embassy-issued NRI certificate
·
Relationship
certificate:
Family tree proof issued by a competent revenue authority establishing relation
with the sponsoring relative
·
Affidavit
from the NRI sponsor:
A notarised declaration confirming full sponsorship of tuition fees and living
expenses, along with a supporting NRE bank passbook
·
Educational
records:
Class 10 and 12 marksheets and passing certificates
·
Birth
certificate
· Passport of candidate and/or sponsor (optional)
The counselling body has cautioned candidates
that failure to meet procedural requirements — including documentation clarity,
submission format, and the prescribed deadline — may result in rejection of the
nationality conversion request for the current academic cycle.
Aspirants have further been advised to regularly monitor the official MCC portal for updates and to download the detailed circular outlining eligibility and document specifications.
With the tight deadline now in force, candidates aiming to convert to NRI status have a narrow and non-negotiable window to act.
